Here are some articles and videos that Hawkman and Hawkgirl appeared in during the week of January 12-18.

10 Awesome Arrowverse Characters The Shows Did Nothing With　
   Here is a list of some of the grievances I had with DC's Legends of Tomorrow...
   1. Built up the arrival of the Hawks for six months. 
   2. Killed off Hawkman in the pilot
   2. Rip Hunter acted like nothing happened. 
   3. They shoved Hawkgirl into a relationship with Ray Palmer/Atom.
   4. Hawkman returns as a mindless slave from the future called Scynthian Torvil. 
   5. They write the Hawks off at the end of Season 1. 
   6. Thirty seconds after the Hawks left, the Justice Society showed up. 
   7. No mention of Hawkman's friendship with the Atom or his connection to the Justice Society.
   8. The most bland, boring, unHawkman like costumes ever. 
   9. Absolute disaster of a show. The writers read one Screen Rant article about Hawkman and thought they knew everything there is to know.

The Horrible, Twisted Story that Ruined Hawkman and Hawkgirl for a Generation

If I grew up in the 2000s and saw the Justice League Unlimited series, I would have hated Hawkman, too. Good job, Bruce Timm. 

Who Is Hawkgirl? Who Is 'Hawkgirl,' Isabela Merced’s Character in James Gunn’s 'Superman'? 
   The fact that they chose a Hispanic actor to play Hawkgirl makes it pretty obvious she is Kendra Saunders; the granddaughter of Speed Saunders and great-niece of  Shiera Saunders who has reincarnated with Hawkman for thousands of years. They are no longer soul mates. butstill connected to each other.

 We have our first glimpse of what Hawkgirl may look like in Superman Legacy. It's not much to go by and this will look nothing like the finished product so hard to it's way too early to say yay or nay. I do have to say that the mace looks pretty awesome. Stay tuned for more updates!

DCU Hawkgirl: Isabela Merced

Big Announcement from DCU James Gunn!

   There was big news in Hawkworld today: in a surprise announcement, we found out that Isabela Merced was cast as Hawkgirl for James Gunn's Superman Legacy. The Superman movie is scheduled to be released on July 11, 2025, which means we have a two-year wait before we see the first Hawkgirl to soar across the movie screen.
   We have no details on what her role will be in the movie. Two other heroes were also announced with Hawkgirl: Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific and Nathan Fillion as GL Guy Gardner. This seems like a completely random, mishmash group of heroes who have all never been on the same team before, and how they come into Superman's story is anyone's guess. We'll have to wait for more details to come out as the release date gets closer. But James Gunn confirmed it himself on Instagram yesterday.
