Who's wealthier: Hawkman or Batman?

Who's wealthier: Hawkman or Batman? This is not a debate I've seen very often but it makes a whole lot of sense. Yes, Batman's superpower is that he is rich (so he says), but when you think about it, Hawkman could very well be much, much wealthier than the almighty Batman.

Hawkman's Mansion (Black Adam, 2022)

First of all, the video short uses the non-defunct DCEU Hawkman, played by Aldis Hodge in the Black Adam movie. In the movie, Carter Hall lived in a huge mansion outside of St. Roch, Louisiana. This mansion was loaded with valuable artifacts. He owned an Nth Metal ship, which was docked beneath the estate. Even Carter Hall's jacket looked expensive. This Hawkman was LOADED.

Check out my article on the mansion from the Black Adam movie here: Hawkman's Mansion

Hawkman is one of the few DC heroes who have their own space ship. Recently, Carter Hal has been seen in the Soarship, a hawk-like ship with an Nth metal engine, transporter beam, shrinking capabilities, and possibly the largest collection of records and artifacts in the universe. In panels depicting the ship's interior, we could see a huge collection of things from his past lives. The records that he has kept on that ship must be unbelievable. Even Catar-Ol, the Hawkman from a past life on Krypton, caled Hawkman the living historical document of the universe.

Carter hall knows that he is going to reincarnate. It would make sense that he would stash away his accumulated wealth throughout his lives in a place where he could get to it in his next life. In the Hawkman Vol. V series, the Soarship was hidden away on a sentient planet called Moz-Ga. Once he retrieved it, he had access to all the records from his past lives.

We often saw Hawkman flying back and forth to Earth and Thanagar, even after he was exiled. Who is paying for the ship's expenses? I don't think Hawkman has a billionaire on speed dial. (Well, maybe he does.) Hawkman would have to have a financial stockpile to fund his work as Hawkman.

Also, Hawkman is a historian and an archeologist. He knows where all the treasures are buried. Not only on Earth, but on countless other planets. Considering that, Hawkman just might be the wealthiest superhero who is not a god. So, I would think that Hawkman is quite a bit richer than Batman.

Hawkman's wealth has never been explored in the comics, but it sure would be interesting to see where Hawkman gets it. And it must be a mind-blowing amount.

  1. Interesting read! I feel like Hawkman is the silent achiever. He knows he is rich thats enough for him. Not one to brag and be flashy like Batman.

  2. Technically, Hawkman is richer, but it's all tied up in weird archeological treasure, most of which either has immense sentimental value and/or is cursed.
