New JSA Series by Jeff Lemire Featuring Hawkman and Hawkgirl

Art by Diego Olortegui

It has been announced that a new JSA/Infinity Inc. series by Jeff Lemire will start a month after the current Justice Society by Geoff Johns ends. Currently, the last issue of Justice Society is scheduled to end in September, but the series has been plagued by delays since it began so it could be postponed again. The art will be by Diego Olortegui.
The new series will be called "JSA" and the members featured in the art are Hawkman (Carter Hall III), Hawkgirl (Kendra Saunders II), Flash (Jay Garrick), Green Lantern (Allan Scott), Wildcat, and Doctor Fate. The Infinty Inc. from the 80s will also be featured in the book in some way. The Infinity Inc was mostly a team of the children of the original JSA members. The art includes Sand, Hourman, Jade, Obsidian, Dr. Mid-Nite, Jakeem Thunder, and Wildcat (Yolanda Montez).
Hawkworld Facebook member Ruben Rex Gomez posted this on the group page.

I thought it was strange that Kendra was included and not Shayera (Hawkwoman) since that was where the last series left us, but I guess a lot has happened in the four years since. Kendra belongs with the Justice League, and I think Carter and Kendra should never be anywhere near each other ever again. However, Jeff Lemire has mentioned that he has big plans for Hawkman, Hawkwoman, and Hawkgirl so we'll have to wait and see how it turns out.
At any rate, the current Justice Society series has been a horrible disappointment for Hawkman and Hawkgirl fans. They have only appeared in short cameo bits and the series has centered around one of many Bat-characters, the Huntress. Hopefully, it will end on schedule and the Lemire/Olortegui series will be able to kick off in October.
