10 DC Comics Powers That Doomed Their Users (CBR)

Hawkman shows up on this list with his "power" of reincarnation. I've never really thought of Hawkman's reincarnation as an actual power. It's more of a curse, but it does give Hawkman the ability to continue through time. Reincarnation has made him practically one of the immortals. He even showed up at a meeting of the Immortals in the Dark Night Metal event back in 2017.
The writer seems to imply that reincarnation gives comic book writers the option of killing off Hawkman because he can be brought back. That's been used in some form in the past, but it seems that people often get the idea of reincarnation with resurrection, two beliefs that are completely different.
I've talked about this before in articles and podcasts, but the two ideas are very different, but easy to confuse I suppose.

In both beliefs, both have the same soul, but in resurrection, killing him off means you bring him back in the same body, which in reincarnation, he comes back in a different form and in a different place usually. That's why in JSA No. 23 (June 2001), David Goyer and Geoff Johns brought back Hawkman in a different form but with connections to the last life. He was not resurrected but reincarnated. That's what makes Hawkman unique, I think. Writing a full article about Hawkman's reincarnation is on my list of Hawk-things to do. One of these days...
Anyway, here's the link to the article. LINK
